Did you know that Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hanson found radio interviews to be the best strategy for gaining traction for the first Chicken Soup for the Soul book in their series?
It’s true. They had a very focused approach to gaining lots of visibility with radio.
Back then, podcast shows were not that popular. Now, authors can gain lots of visibility with both radio and podcast shows.
Radio Rocks
I’m so convinced in the power of radio and podcast shows, it’s going to be the #1 way I will use to promote my upcoming memoir.
Having been interviewed hundreds of times on various shows, I know there’s a formula for success when it comes to radio and podcast shows.
Develop a Media Kit
To fully optimize any opportunities that come along, you need to have a few things in place. It’s a good idea to create a media kit.
At a minimum, you need a expert one sheet, bio, introduction, head-shot, contact information, list of books you’ve written, possible interview questions and a link to your website.
Hire a Coach
If you’re new to radio and podcast interviews, you may want to consider hiring a media coach to help you shine on your interviews. It’s painful to listen to someone being interviewed who has no idea what they are doing, are boring or they go on and on with an answer.
