Podcasts are all the rage right now. Everywhere you look, people are touting the benefits of getting on shows. Some “experts” claim it’s so easy to get on shows you don’t have to do much of anything. Not so. You DO have to take three very important steps to assure greater success.
I’ve been on both sides of the mic hundreds of times. As a host, I have two shows. One is Power Up for Profits podcast and the other is Plant Based Eating for Health podcast.
With Power Up for Profits, the type of guests I seek varies, but with Plant Based Eating for Health, there is one hard and fast rule; anyone who comes on my show MUST be 100% void of any animal or dairy products in their diet. No exceptions.
Recently, I had a woman representing an author inquire about me having her client on the show. I noticed in his bio he is vegetarian which means he may consume some animal and some dairy. When I asked about it she responded, “He does but just a little bit.” A little, for my plant based show, is too much.
Now mind you, I’m not judging his eating, but I am sticking with the rules for my show. Show hosts you approach may have similar rules for their shows. Not about eating, but about criteria. If they do, you best respect the rules because no matter how you try to convince them, it likely won’t work.
You’ll get a lot further a lot faster if you play by the rules of the host. It simply makes sense to do so.

Very well done and written. I’ve only just begun writing a blog myself in the last few days and realized lot of bloggers simply rehash old ideas
but add very little of value. It’s good to read an informative write-up of some actual value to me, as a reader.
It’s on the list of things I need to replicate as a new blogger.
Reader engagement and material value are king. Many fantastic ideas; you’ve absolutely managed to get on my list of writers to watch!
Carry on the terrific work!
Cheers,
Madelyn
