Say a few affirmations and your life will instantly change.
Is it really that easy? Some will say yes. Others will say no.
There are those who claim that simply writing down a few affirmations and then reading them over and over will give you all you want. Dig deeper and these same folks may be struggling.
Truth be told, it takes more than affirming what you want. So what does it take? In a word, action.
It takes work
There are those who claim to want something, but when it comes to working for what they desire, they give up when they realize how much work it will actually take.
If you say you want something, you have to be willing to put effort into the achievement of the “something.”
The challenge is that far too many people have bought into the BS that you can simply affirm what you want and magically that “something” will drop from the heavens.
Whether it be with one’s finances, health, relationships or business, there is a lot of misguided information as to what it takes to achieve success.
More than Affirmations
Take finances. For whatever reason, there are those who believe that attracting money simply takes a few affirmations.
“I am a money magnet. I attract great wealth to myself with ease and flow,” but that’s as far as many people get.
Then they wait, and wait, and wait. Frustrated with not achieving the level of financial success they claim they want, they buy into the belief that affirmations don’t work. It’s not that affirmations don’t work, it’s that they didn’t put any work into the process of engaging the affirmation.
My First Sprint Triathlon
Recently, I completed my first sprint triathlon. No one, myself included, would think all I had to do is “affirm” my way to successfully crossing the finish line.
I had to train, practice, commit, stick with it and work with any negative self talk that might surface. After months of preparation, I crossed the finish line.
What about when I wrote my book, Power Up for Profits; The Smart Woman’s Guide to Online Marketing. The book didn’t write itself simply by me affirming it.
Not at all. Not only did I have to set the intention, I had to take the action. And continue taking action.
Why is it that many people have a misguided belief that money will drop from the heavens if all they do is say a few simple affirmations? Could this be why so many people affirm themselves into struggling financially?
This also happens with health. You can’t say a few, “I’m slim, trim and healthy,” while your stuffing donuts in your mouth.
In addition to affirming what you want, you absolutely must have an action plan. Then you need to take action… on a consistent basis.
