As the producer of several podcasts, I’m constantly on the lookout for engaging guests to feature on various shows. However, finding the right contact information can often feel like a treasure hunt.
The same challenge arises when I assist clients in finding shows to appear on. Whether I’m doing the research myself or delegating it to a team member, tracking down a podcast host’s contact details can be time-consuming.
To make the process smoother, it’s essential to know where and how to look. Here’s how to find contact information for podcast hosts, starting with the easiest options:
Where to Find Contact Information for Hosts
Podcast Website
Many podcasts have dedicated websites where hosts list their contact information, such as email addresses, submission forms, or links to their social media profiles.
Podcast Directories
Platforms like Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or Google Podcasts often include links to the show’s website or social media accounts. Check the show notes for additional details.
Social Media Accounts
Hosts frequently promote their shows on platforms like Instagram, x (formally Twitter,) LinkedIn, or Facebook. Their contact information is often in their bio or linked through their profile.
Podcast Episode Show Notes
Most hosts include contact details or instructions for reaching out directly in the episode descriptions or show notes.
LinkedIn
If the host has a professional presence, LinkedIn is a great place to connect. Personalize your message to stand out.
Podcast Hosting Platforms
Some platforms, like Podbean, Buzzsprout, or Libsyn, provide public-facing profiles for podcasts, which may include contact details.
Email Guessing
If the host has a personal or business domain, use email formats like “first.last@domain.com” or “contact@domain.com.” Tools like Hunter.io can help verify email addresses. Some of these services to charge a small monthly fee.
Networking
Reach out to mutual connections or engage with the host’s content on social media. Building rapport can lead to direct communication.
Tips for Effective Outreach
Be Respectful: Use the contact method the host prefers. If they request pitches via a specific form, follow their instructions.
Be Concise: When reaching out, make your message clear, direct, and respectful of their time.
Be Persistent, Not Pushy: If you don’t hear back, follow up politely after a reasonable amount of time.
Finding a podcast host’s contact information doesn’t have to be a frustrating treasure hunt. By knowing where to look and using the right tools, you can streamline the process and focus more on crafting your pitch.
