According to some studies over 85% of the adult U.S. population dream of writing a book. Only a handful will realize their dream.
Even those who are skilled at writing can run into roadblocks to getting their book written.
Daily distractions prevent most people from staying focused on their writing.
A few ways to avoid this are:
Make writing a priority
If you don’t set your writing as a priority, you will likely put it on the back burner day after day after day.
Prioritize your day so that writing is at the top of your list. The more of a priority you make it the more likely it is you will get it done in a timely manner.
Notice Your Productive Time
Determine the time of day you are most productive and use that as your writing time. For me it is early in the morning. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and get a lot of writing done.
For you, it may be afternoon or evening. Regardless of when it is, honor your productive time.
Find an accountability partner
Studies have shown that when you have someone to be accountable to you do get more done.
Have you ever had an accountability partner? If you have, it’s likely you were able to more easily achieve what you wanted to. When writing a book, having an accountability partner works wonders.
Find a mentor
Learn from someone who has “been there, done that” to guide you through the process.
For whatever reason, many writers seem to think they must go it alone. Nothing could be further from the truth.
A good mentor will help you to achieve your outcome much faster than you can do on your own.
A mentor is there to help you overcome obstacles and blocks. A mentor can cut years off your learning curve. The right mentor will encourage you to do more than you ever thought possible.
The fact is, you can keep dreaming of writing your book or you can get serious and get it done.
My friend and colleague, Marnie Pehrson, is a master at getting her books out of her head and heart in an amazingly fast and efficient manner. She’s also a master at teaching others how to do the same.
After writing 23 titles, Marnie has developed her own Collaborative Creation and Story Method that enables her to write books that pack-a-punch in a very short period of time. In fact, she wrote her last book, “Light the World: How Your Brilliance Can Shift the Planet” in about 2.5 weeks!
It went from idea to print within 30 days. How would you like to be able to do the same?
I know I would. So much in fact, I am joining in on Marnie’s upcoming training.
Now mind you, I have written several books, dozens of information products and hundreds of articles.
Yet, I’m smart enough to know I don’t know it all. I’m also smart enough to know there are some experts, like Marnie, I can learn incredible shortcuts and insights from.
That’s why I’m joining in on, and recommend you do too, Marnie’s Create a WOW Book Accountability and Mentoring Program.
It all begins on Monday, October 29th. The sessions are live but if you can’t make it to the live calls you will receive the replays.
And best of all, Marnie will have Q&A time so you can get all your questions answered.
