It seems everyday there is something that is the “latest and greatest” when it comes to 2.0 marketing. It sounds impressive, but what is 2.0 marketing?
Web 2.0 is a phrase coined by O’Reilly Media in 2004. It refers to a perceived or proposed second generation of Internet-based services-such as social networking sites, Social media, various online communication tools, wikis, and online collaboration to name just a few things.
For many people this can be confusing and overwhelming. Trying to figure it out by yourself can actually be a huge trap. At every turn of the Days of our Internet Lives someone is recommending we join this social network, that social network, use this video site to market our business, try this latest technology and on and on.

The fact is 2.0 simply gives us more tools in our toolbox of marketing choices. As with anything you must determine the most effective tools for your particular needs to achieve success and sanity.
Recently, Business Week had an excellent cover story article on this very topic. It should come as no surprise that they used 2.0 methods to get the word out about the article.
